Well, it appears as if the third
American Idol winner cannot be held down. This past year on ONTD, we learned that Fantasia was sexually abused as a teen and was illiterate.
Now here's the good news. Fantasia has been learning to read so she can read contracts and be able to read to her daughter. She's even pursuing her GED!
Also, despite being beat out by
Jennifer Hudson for the role of Effie White in
Dreamgirls, we're going to get a chance to see Fantasia act in an autobiographical film airing on the Lifetime network. After the film, we can expect a new album which will include songwriting/production by
Missy Elliott and
Ne-Yo (who also wrote
Mario's "Let Me Love You" and is currently on the charts with his song "So Sick"). The album will also include songs written by Fantasia and possibly
some country and rock songs.
I don't know about you, but I think it'll be interesting to hear Fantasia pull off a country song. Here is
the article that I got the info from, which includes a
hilarious link to a dance performance of "Baby Mama" and a song called "Janet Reno" by
Anquette, a long-forgotten hip-hop girl group. The dancers are stuffed with pillows so they look pregnant and they throw/dance with babies!...well, they throw dolls, not actual babies.
Also, has anyone heard any confirmation of the rumors that "Addicted" will be the next official single by
Kelly Clarkson? If she was going for another single, I was totally hoping for "Where is Your Heart?"
